Authenticity as a success factor for your hotel profile

In a digital world where travelers primarily seek information online, having a well-maintained hotel profile on HolidayCheck is more important than ever. Hotels that actively respond to guest feedback, regularly upload new photos, and offer authentic insights build trust and convey professionalism, which increases visibility and booking opportunities in the long term.

1. Active management of reviews and questions

Reviews and questions enhance visibility

  • Encourage guests to leave reviews: Authentic guest feedback increases your hotel’s relevance and helps attract new customers. Genuine reviews on HolidayCheck promote transparency—as long as they are collected in line with the Code of Conduct.
  • Every review deserves a personal response: Show appreciation by regularly replying to reviews and thanking your guests. You can view and respond to all reviews in your Business Center.
  • Answer guest questions: In the Business Center, you’ll also find questions potential guests have asked about your hotel. Respond actively to clear up uncertainties and build trust. A quick and friendly reply shows that your hotel values guest interaction.
  • Avoid generic responses: Refrain from using identical standard replies for multiple reviews or questions—guests can tell when responses are impersonal.
  • Address guest topics directly: Reflect the topics mentioned by users in your replies. This demonstrates appreciation and genuine interest. It also helps Google understand which features of your hotel are worth highlighting.
Example: A guest praises the spa area → “Thank you for your wonderful feedback on our wellness area! We’re delighted that you enjoyed relaxing in our spacious sauna facilities.”
  • Authenticity matters: Keep your tone warm and genuine. Avoid overloading your replies with forced keywords.

Handling critical reviews

Respond professionally: Address criticism in a friendly, factual, and solution-oriented manner to build trust. Always respond to critical feedback respectfully and constructively—this shows potential guests your commitment to hospitality.

2. Visual content & up-to-date presentation

Visual quality

  • High-quality, authentic images: As with your hotel description, we recommend creating a varied and realistic visual impression of your property. In addition to professional “catalog” photos, potential guests value authentic, transparent images that truly represent your hotel.
  • Comprehensive photo upload: In the Business Center, you can upload photos to your hotel profile and create a personalized gallery. We recommend adding images for all areas and categories of your hotel (where available). You can assign categories after uploading:
    o   Rooms
    o   Beach
    o   Pool
    o   Restaurant
    o   Exterior view (hotel building)
    o   Leisure activities
    o   View (scenery or outlook)
    o   Lobby
    o   Garden
    o   Other

The profile picture plays a crucial role in the first impression—it appears most prominently in your hotel profile. Your photo gallery is complemented by 2 exterior shots, 3 room photos, and 4 additional images of your choice. You can define the order and selection in the Business Center. Additional photos uploaded by users are available in the “Photos” section of your hotel profile.
  • Emotional imagery: Authentic moments—such as spa experiences or images showcasing your hotel’s unique features—create an emotional connection and trust.
  • Traveler photos: Encourage your guests to upload their own authentic images on HolidayCheck. User-generated photos play a key role in helping others choose your hotel.
  • Drone video & 360° virtual tour: With the drone video and the 360° virtual tour, we offer two products for visual hotel presentation.  Would you like to learn more about this?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           To the advertising formats

Regular updates

  • Keep your images current: Regularly update your photo gallery, especially after renovations or refurbishments. Maintain your profile in the Business Center and include seasonal highlights or new features when relevant. The latest photos are automatically added chronologically to the “Photos” section.
  • Highlight events: Promoting recurring or special events also enhances your profile’s relevance and freshness. We recommend maintaining this information under the “Service” section in your Business Center description. Upcoming events or highlights—such as New Year’s Eve parties or gala dinners—can be powerful conversion drivers.

3. Accurate information & managing expectations

Ensure correct information

  • Accurate amenities and services: Complete your hotel profile carefully, indicating what is truly available (e.g., “Pets allowed” vs. “Pets not allowed”).
  • Avoid outdated details: Regularly review your HolidayCheck profile and update it to prevent misunderstandings.
  • Clear communication: Inaccurate or misleading information can lead to disappointment and negative reviews. Avoid false promises.
